For
my final outcome for graphics I decided to create business cards for an exhibition
of Museum of green. I took photos of my collection and put them into Photoshop using
and playing around with different effects that went well with the photos I took.
I also included text in my designs in black so it will be clear and easy to see
compared to the colours in the design. I made each of my designs different so
they all stand out with their own individual style.

Resin frame
In 3D I chose four objects from my green collection. I chose three bottle tops and a paint tube. I placed them in the vacuum former so I can have moulds of them to pour resin into. Once the moulds were made I got and bent some wire to fit into the plastic moulds and used masking tape to keep it in place. I decided to use the green coloured resin because the colour I chose to collect was green so it would fit in nicely with my project. I poured the green resin into my moulds and left it to dry for a couple of days. Once it was dry I cut the resin out of the plastic moulds and got rid of the plastic. I used long nose pliers to straighten the wire I placed into the resin. Once I done that I made a frame to display my work. I measured what size I needed my frame to be using a long steel ruler and cut the pieces of wood on a band saw. I used sandpaper to sand down the pieces of wood and used t cut to make the wood look shiny and finished. I had to mark out where each of my resin pieces would hang from the frame so I used a long steel ruler and a pencil to mark out where I wanted them to go. Using a drill I drilled a hole through both sides of the wood frame so the wire inside my resin pieces can fit through and stay inside the wood. The wire was a bit too long for the frame so I bent to wire back and cut the ends off using pliers. I liked the way my green resin pieces came out and the way they were displayed, I think it looks professional and it goes well with my project.

Sgraffito research
Natalie Blake’s work is sgraffito carved ceramic wall art
and tiles.
Her carving is inspired by aquatic, botanical, industrial and mythical elements.
The sculpture and layered colour create a depth of surface, texture, and a sense of three-dimensional space.
Compared to Diana Fayt I think her work is a bit too crowded and random, Diana’s work is calmer and she has a simpler design in her work.
I like the way she uses a lot of detail in her work and the colour slip she uses but I don’t like her mythical designs as I think they are a bit too much.

Research
Tony Cragg is a British visual artist specialized in
sculpture.
He uses materials such as bronze, steel, plastic, rubber, glass, wood, plaster
and more to create his sculptures. His early works are made from found
materials and discarded construction materials that he found on the street and
disposed household materials.
He arranges his work into colour categories.
Because I am collecting green objects I found his work inspiring because he has
created sculptures and pieces of work which is green.
I like Tony Cragg’s work because I like the way he arranges his work into
colours to create things with the objects he has found. I think his work is
inspiring because you do not have to buy objects to create something.
Ceramic Research
Diana Fayt
is a Ceramics artist who uses sgraffito.
Her sgraffito is detailed and delicate. Sgraffito is applying scratches and marks to an unfired ceramic piece with a layer of slip to produce an outline drawing. All the marks she makes on her clay piece are different and interesting. To me her work stands out because of all the detail and her designs make you want to look at the piece of work.
All her work is basically nature based and is inspired by nature and life stories.
Her ceramic pieces are often narrative with marks of time, events and images seen and experienced then drawn into the surface of her clay bowls and vases. By doing this she hopes to leave a permanent mark that expresses her vision of what she experiences in the world around her.
I really like her work because I think it is beautifully done and all her marks on the ceramics piece are drawn very well and her work is unique and different from other ceramic artists I have seen.

I scanned some of my green objects that I collected in Graphics using a scanner. Once I scanned
them I put my photos in to Photoshop and played around with the effects to see
what ones looked nice and went with my work. I chose a black and white effect for
one of my photos because it gave off a negative and positive effect, the other
effect I chose was the x-ray effect. I think that effect gave my photo a more
3D look also you can see what the objects more clearly with this effect. The
last effect I used was a light effect. This effect made my photo stand out and
look bold and bright. It mixes the photo up so you cannot really make out what
the objects are. I really like the way these photos come out. They look unique
and they show different sides to one photo.
